Weekly Leadership Brief
From $6,500 to build, then $250 a month, for one practice. Each week your leaders get one page, drawn from the systems your team already uses, on which numbers changed and what needs a decision. Every figure links to its source, AI insights are labeled, and a person you name approves the page.

Built for
- Practice owners with no analyst and a practice system they rarely open
- CEOs and CFOs who piece together the same weekly update by chasing people for numbers
- Health-tech COOs who assemble the weekly update from Jira, Slack and the finance and pipeline reports
- Boards that get the numbers late, or buried in a long packet
- Home health and hospice operators watching census, referrals and quality scores
Why it's worth it
Today
If someone on your team spends hours each week pulling numbers from different systems and chasing people for updates, that time adds up: five hours a week of a manager's time costs about $15,500 a year at the median wage for medical and health services managers ($59.55 an hour in May 2025). And a number that's slipping can go unnoticed for weeks.
After
Leaders open one page that says which numbers changed and why, and what needs a decision. Every figure links to its source, and your team's part takes under 15 minutes a week.
Why it matters
47%
47% of employees who use computers and software for their work struggle to find the information or data they need to do their jobs well. The average desk worker used 11 software applications, up from six in 2019.

How it works
A person on your team approves every result
The tool runs these steps on a schedule. Nothing moves past the approval step until someone on your team signs off.
- InputYour team's systemsThe tracker, meeting notes and shared drives, plus your finance, volume and staffing reports: Smartsheet, Jira, SharePoint, Teams, your EHR's summary reports. In a practice, the summary reports your practice system and accounting software print.
- CodeCheck and computeRejects any file with patient details, computes each change against last period, budget and target, and links every figure to its source.
- AI modelWrite and add insightWrites the page, quotes your team's notes for the reasons, and adds labeled AI insights (patterns, risks, questions worth asking) that show what they're based on. The insights cover operations only, never patient care.
- A person approvesYour editor reviewsThe owner, CFO or chief of staff checks the figures and the insights, then approves the page.
- OutputYour brief, in your brandingSent by email, Teams or Slack, with a ready-to-forward PDF in your branding and an archive of past briefs and decisions.
What you get
Owner's brief
One practice, every week
Production, collections, A/R by age, schedule fill, payer mix and referrals by source, with two or three items worth a closer look. Your office manager saves the week's summary exports to one folder.
Operator brief
A team's week, plus a board version
Finance, volume, staffing, referrals and open projects for a hospital, a health center, a post-acute or senior care operator, or a health-tech company. The board gets a monthly page with approvals due and a running decision log. Health center boards see whether the center is on pace to reach the patient target in its HRSA grant, in plain language for board members who are patients themselves. Home health adds census, referral conversion and the quality scores that move traditional Medicare pay by up to 5% either way.
Health system
A page for each audience
Executives, each hospital and the board each get their own page, built from your warehouse or BI exports inside your own cloud account.
Every version
Three kinds of content, each marked
Facts come from your systems, each linked to its source. Reasons are quoted from your team's own notes and minutes. AI insights are labeled as AI and show what they're based on.
What done means
Four briefs in a row ship on schedule, each reviewed by your editor, with every figure traced to its source. The weekly exports take your team under 15 minutes.
If a source is missing one week, the brief says which one. By the fifth brief your team does its part without us, using the written operating guide (the runbook) we hand over, and the monthly fee covers watching each run and fixing what breaks.
Choose your version
Each version is a one-time build, then a flat monthly fee for monitoring and fixes. If you stop the fee, the tool keeps running in your account.
What the monthly fee covers
We watch every run, fix the brief when a report or system changes, keep it working as AI models change, and reply by the next business day. Owner's briefs get a check-in each quarter, the others each month. It's month to month with 30 days' notice, and the brief is yours either way: it keeps running in your account if you stop. Because it runs in your own accounts, you pay its hosting and AI usage directly, and your proposal estimates that bill in writing before you sign. We set the accounts up with you during the build, and their bills come to you.

A health system that wants proof first? Start with a pilot (four briefs, built from three of your sources) for $12,500, one time, credited toward the full build within 90 days.
Payment and terms
- Under $20,000, half at signing and half at delivery. From $20,000, 40% at signing, 30% at a mid-build demo and 30% at acceptance.
- Paying by purchase order? There's no deposit: we invoice half at kickoff and half at acceptance, or from $20,000, 25% at kickoff, 35% at a mid-build demo and 40% at acceptance. Acceptance means the “What done means” criteria are met.
- The monthly fee is month to month with 30 days' notice, and we reply by the next business day. The tool is yours on final payment and keeps running in your account if you stop the fee.
- The fee for a smaller first step counts toward the full build if you buy it within 90 days.
- Running three or more of our AI tools? Their monthly fees are capped at $1,000 a month in total. Health system, network and multi-site versions are priced on their own.
Year one is the build plus 12 months of our fee. Hosting and AI usage are billed to you by those providers, and your proposal estimates them before you sign. The build times on this page are measured in weeks of full-time work. Start and finish dates are set in writing in your proposal.
Tyler Kent does this work himself. He has 13+ years in data science and analytics, most of it in healthcare. About Tyler
Where this comes from
It follows the same design as Opus, the one-page weekly brief Tyler created for the leadership of a public data platform. Opus links each figure to the system it came from, labels anything taken from a meeting as reported so readers can tell it apart from system data, and publishes only a complete brief, so leadership never opens a half-finished page. Your brief works the same way.
Read the Opus case studyQuestions
How is this different from a dashboard?
A dashboard waits for someone to open it. The brief comes to you, says which numbers changed and what needs a decision, and links each figure to the report behind it. It works alongside the dashboards you have. If you need dashboards built, that's a separate service: Data Visualization and Dashboards.
Does the AI calculate the numbers?
No. Code reads your reports and computes every figure, comparison and percentage. The AI writes the sentences around those numbers and can't change them. Your editor can check any figure in one click.
What are AI insights, and can we trust them?
They're the AI's own observations, such as a trend across several weeks, a risk building at one site, or a question worth asking at the next meeting. Each is labeled as AI and shows the figures behind it, so your editor can check it, then keep or delete it. Facts and your team's quotes stay separate, and the insights cover operations only, never patient care.
Will it make up reasons for a change?
No. When a number moves, the brief quotes the reason your team gave in its notes, minutes or tracker, and says where it came from. If nobody wrote one down, the line says “Check” and names the person who owns that number.
Can it post to Teams or Slack, or match our branding?
Yes. It goes out by email, Teams or Slack, whichever your leaders read. The PDF carries your logo, colors and fonts, ready to forward to a board or a partner.
Which systems and reports can it read?
Summary reports, such as totals by week, payer, location or referral source, plus the project tracker, meeting notes and shared folders you choose. If your practice system prints A/R or schedule reports patient by patient, the statement of work names the summary version of each. A check rejects any file with patient details.
Where should a small practice start?
With the owner's brief: $6,500 to build, then $250 a month. If your listings and reviews need work too, add the $1,500 website and reviews check. Together they come to $11,000 in year one, before hosting and AI usage. To see what arrives each week, read the sample owner's brief.
We're a large system with a BI team. Why buy this?
Your BI team keeps the warehouse and the dashboards. The brief reads what they already maintain and turns it into the page leaders read each week. Start with the $12,500 pilot: four briefs from three of your sources, run in your cloud. If your leaders don't read them, you stop there. If they do, the pilot fee counts toward the full build.
