Built for
- Leaders with dashboards nobody opens
- Organizations publishing data for the public, funders or a board
- Teams that need report or grant graphics without waiting on a designer
Why it's worth it
Today
The dashboard has dozens of charts, and leaders still ask someone to pull the number before a meeting. The annual report and the grant application go out with charts nobody remembers.
After
Each team opens one page built around the decisions it makes, with the number that matters at the top. Reports, grant applications and public pages carry charts in your brand that each make one point, with the source on the figure.
What you get
Operations
Dashboards people use
Built from the data you already have, around the decisions each team makes, with fewer charts, plain titles and the number that matters first.
Public and board
Interactive data stories
A finding explained one step at a time, ending in a chart readers can search and explore, like the chart of hospitals in Medicare's TEAM program and the healthcare AI evidence map on this site.
Reports
Report and publication graphics
Charts for annual reports, grant applications and papers, in your brand, with the source and caveats on the figure.
Handoff
A chart style guide
Colors, type and chart rules written down, so the next chart matches the last one.
Tyler has built this before
He led a public data platform on healthcare and aging with hundreds of interactive charts, and built Emblema, the engine that turns written findings into publication-ready graphics.
The chart of hospitals in Medicare's TEAM program and the healthcare AI evidence map on this site are his work too.

One fixed price, written into your proposal. After launch there's no monthly fee from us; support is optional at $500 to $1,500 a month.

An example
A preview built from public CMS files. TEAM is a Medicare program that, for five surgeries, sets each hospital a spending target for each case, called a target price, covering the hospital stay or outpatient procedure and the 30 days after the patient leaves the hospital. The chart shows the 523 TEAM hospitals with enough 2024 Medicare stays in the surgeries TEAM prices, and the full version lets all 720 TEAM hospitals search for themselves.
CMS TEAM model
How much of the TEAM target is spent before the patient leaves the hospital, by surgery
Coronary bypasstypical 70%
Major bowel surgerytypical 63%
Spinal fusiontypical 59%
Joint replacementtypical 50%
Hip or femur fracturetypical 38%
Each dot is one hospital in one surgery, 1,539 in all. It shows how much of the 2026 TEAM target the hospital's average 2024 stay used, with the stay counted the way TEAM counts it, as far as public files allow. The target here is CMS's preliminary price for the hospital's region and mix of cases, before CMS adjusts it for the hospital's own patients. What is left of the target has to cover the doctors and the 30 days after discharge. Four dots are over 100%, so the stay alone cost more than the whole target.

Questions
Which tools do you build in?
Your reporting tool, such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker, for internal dashboards. Stories for the public are usually web pages, so they load fast on a phone and search engines can read them.
How do you make sure people use the dashboards?
The first week is spent with the people who will use your dashboards, listing the decisions they make and the number each one needs.
Can it follow our brand?
Yes. Charts use your colors and type, and every palette is checked for color-blind readers before launch.
Do we need dashboards or a weekly brief?
People who explore the numbers themselves are best served by dashboards. Leaders who want one page each week saying which numbers changed and what needs a decision are better served by the Weekly Leadership Brief.
Does it need patient data?
Public and board work uses aggregate or published data. Internal dashboards on patient-level data start once a BAA and our insurance are in place.
What happens after launch?
The dashboards, pages and graphics are yours, with no license or monthly fee from us. Thirty days of fixes are included. After that, support is optional at $500 to $1,500 a month, priced by the size of what we built and billed month to month. It covers fixes, failed refreshes, updates when a data source changes, and replies by the next business day.
