About the data

Sources
Method
This is a Kent Applied analysis of public CMS files. Each dot is one hospital in one surgery: its 2024 Medicare inpatient stays, counted the way TEAM counts them in CMS standardized dollars, moved to 2026 prices and divided by CMS's 2026 preliminary target price for the hospital's region and mix of cases. Hospitals need at least 11 stays in a surgery for a dot. The data below are the per-surgery summary; the CSV on the TEAM report page has the numbers for every hospital with a dot.
